Auld Lang Syne

I can think of no more fitting end to this annus horribilis (to quote the Queen) than to smash our way out of it. Thanks to all the bloggers who posted good music that we could all enjoy and helped us realize that yes, there is still a LOT of good music out there. Keep the faith. Next year will be better. “It can’t get no worse.”

  2. I think it’s safe to say most if not all of us feel like the young woman with the baseball bat in the clip and beat the crap out of 2020.

    It was probably the most challenging year in my lifetime so far. Amid all the doom and gloom and a country that was seemingly falling apart, there were also things I oftentimes took for granted. The fact my wife, son and I have stayed healthy; that we have a roof over our head and don’t face eviction; that I still have a job I can fully do from home; and, of course, the magic of music that has helped me once again to keep it all together are just some of the things I feel grateful about.

    I’m cautiously optimistic for 2021. Things are going to improve, but it will take time, continued vigilance and patience. Meanwhile, let’s all keep on bloggin’ in the free world, as I said to Hotfox63 the other day. Nothing can beat the joy of music! And, most of all, let’s stay healthy!

    Optimism?

    We have a lunatic President going out and a Dead One coming in.
    There is no light at the end of the tunnel because the tunnel has been full of shit for far too long.

    But Jim, Tubularsock still wishes you a happy new year and appreciates all the great work you put into keeping Tubularsock knowledgeable about music. Which is one of the few saving graces.

    Cheers. And “damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead” ….. oh! wait until Tubularsock finishes this joint!

    1. You know of course, I hope, that that line is from the Beatles’ “It’s Getting Better,” John’s cynical contribution. Glad you get something out of this blog and equally glad I can find a use for all this trivia in my head.
